We just got back from the most incredible weekend in New York City. It turns out that SNL cast-member Bobby Moynihan is a huge Lost fan. We got in touch a while back and I sent him a signed set of the Lost posters that I designed. He returned the favor by inviting us out to see Saturday Night Live! My wife and I are huge SNL fans so we were ecstatic to actually be a part of the studio audience. The show was amazing. Emma Stone hosted…Kings of Leon performed…It was unbelievable! After the show we toured the set and joined Bobby at the SNL after party. The entire night was an incredible experience and we’ll never forget it. Thanks, Bobby!

I even got a chance to practice my monologue walk-out.

Ok. This is just out-of-control! So the Dexter producers are big fans of the posters I designed. I put the artwork on my blog on a Thursday night, and on Friday morning I started getting calls from the show’s creators asking about the prints. I told them I’d be honored to give all the writers and producers complete sets of the posters. So today I went up to the studios where they film the show to deliver the artwork.
And who do I run into first…?

I seriously ran into Michael C. Hall as I was walking in. We took the elevator together. I’m not going to lie, I was a little uneasy riding alone in an elevator with Dexter Morgan. But I made it out alive…and it turns out that in real life, he is a very cool guy.

All of the producers on the show were really incredible. One even took the time to give me a tour of the set and I got to see where they actually film the show, including the infamous bathroom…

Miami Metro PD…

…and Dexter’s apartment!

The whole thing was just AMAZING! I am so honored that they invited me to come up. BIG thank you to Showtime and the Dexter folks for being so gracious and spending time with me today. What a cool experience!
Um…oh yeah…and the executive-producer offered me a walk-on role next season. No big deal.
UPDATE: THE DEXTER PRINTS WILL GO ON SALE ON 10/21 AT 12 NOON PST/3PM EST AT THIS LINK. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the overwhelming response to the Dexter posters I designed! I really appreciate all of the comments and emails…AND…Showtime has decided to make them official Dexter merchandise! They will be available for sale here at 12 noon PST/3pm EST on Thursday 10/21.
The posters printed over the weekend and arrived at my studio yesterday. I have to say, they look pretty awesome! The guys at Vahalla Studios did an amazing job. Each one is a 18×24, 3-color silkscreen on super thick 100# French Black Licorice paper. Limited edition – 103 each of the 4 designs. Every print is hand-signed and numbered by me. Below are some detail shots of the posters.
You have to admit, these will look great in your kill room.
Season One

Season Two

Season Three

Season Four

So…after Lost finished I started to get into Dexter…and I have to say, I’m a big fan! I was so inspired that I decided to create one poster design for each season – highlighting the iconic moments from the show. This idea took a little longer than I thought but I love how they turned out. Let me know what you think!
Leave a comment and let me know if you’d be interested in these prints. Thinking about doing a limited edition. Follow me on Twitter or check back to the blog and I will let you know when we make them available. Thanks!
UPDATE 10/8: THESE PRINTS WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON ON THE SHOWTIME WEBSITE!!! Details to come!

Rachel Nicole, just left a comment on this post mentioning the potential for this art as DVD packaging. I thought it was a great idea, so I mocked up this concept. How cool would this be as a collector’s edition?

love the monologue prep! I am cracking up!
What a year you’re having!
nice, looked like a blast!
Hi Ty – Looks like you and Rhea had an incredible trip!
ahahah, props man!
OMG! The Ty Mattson “Walk-out”! Far OUT!
I may be prejudiced, but I still think Sammamish H.S. “Thursday Night Live” would give SNL a run for their money!! Your wife was another Kristen Wiig in her hay-day!! :)
The walk out was just awesome!! You keep it up, it just may come true. Nice work all around buddy. Huge congrats on all your success.
