Ty Mattson ‘Breaking Bad’ Posters

I was a huge “LOST” fan. I loved “Dexter”. “Homeland” is incredible. But “Breaking Bad” is the greatest television show. Ever.

I am such a big fan of the show, that I designed a set of three posters to celebrate the Emmy-winning series. And now, I am very excited to announce that these prints are official “Breaking Bad” merchandise and will be exclusively available on the BreakingBadStore.com starting tomorrow (Tuesday September 24th) at 10AM PST/1PM EST.

The poster series illustrates the transformation of Bryan Cranston’s character, Walter White, over the course of the highly-acclaimed series.

Mr. White

This first print depicts the Walter White we met in the first season of “Breaking Bad” – the pitiful chemistry teacher, wearing only a green rubber apron and white cotton briefs, frantically cooking meth in the Albuquerque desert.

Heisenberg

The second print portrays Walter White as the crystal meth kingpin, “Heisenberg”. Rising to power and descending into chaos, Walter is encircled by the super-lab and a small, pesky intruder.

The final print represents the final incarnation of Walter White: Mr. Lambert. Armed and dangerous, bearded and beleaguered, Mr. Lambert has nothing left to lose!

The collector’s edition prints will be available as individual 18″x24″ posters, or as a set of 3 11″x14″ smaller prints. Each piece is a 2-color, hand-pulled silkscreen print on 100lb French Pop-Tone Paper and every poster is hand signed and numbered. There is also a Heisenberg variant on hazmat yellow, which will only be available in the 18″x24″ size.

So the yellow print isn’t going to be available in 11″x14″ at anytime? I’d like it to go with the other three I purchased.

Hi! I could have sworn I’ve been to this site before but after browsing through a few of the posts I realized it’s new
to me. Nonetheless, I’m definitely happy I came across it and I’ll be book-marking
it and checking back often!

Hello, I ordered one each of the large prints and the set of three prints. When I ordered, I had the impression that these were a limited edition of 100 each. After doing some more research, My Play cannot answer how many prints are being produced. Can you please answer so everyone ordering knows what to expect when they receive the prints? PS…..the prints look great!

- Greg Robinson + 10.1.13 | 8:25 pm

Hi, I have the same question as Greg Robinson. Are these limited to 100? Because it seems that there are a lot more… I’ve ordered 4 with the impression they were really limited, I can’t wait to get them but I can’t help but feel a little disappointed that I’m just getting something that is mass produced and not at all rare.

Thanks for the 4-piece set of Walter White’s transformation. Can’t wait to get them up on the wall. My only question is, I noticed the second edition is for sale on the breaking bad store website. When did the first edition prints sell out? Just wondering which ones I purchased and/or should expect in the mail. Thanks again Ty!

I placed an order for the 1st edition 3 prints but have yet to receive anything yet. Does anyone know if they were already shipped out yet? I hope I’m still getting 1st edition that are hand numbered and signed.

Great post. I was chcking constantly this blog and I am impressed!
Very helpful info particularly the last part :) I care for such info a lot.
I was looking for this certain information for a long
time. Thank you and best of luck.

I ordered the Hazmat yellow print the first day and was told these were signed and numbered edition of 100. Then it looks like they are now an open edition poster, and nothing has shipped yet. WTF is going on? Hope this isnt bait and switch false advertising!.

- J Harter + 10.25.13 | 4:02 pm

You should do Harry Potter, depending on if your allowed to or not, but I would love to see your representation of HP, perhaps one for each movie

[...] Awesome Breaking Bad posters! [...]

I just received the prints tonight and the visual quality of your work exceeds all expectations. They belong in a studio gallery. However, I ordered all of the prints available on the website during the final show. At the time all the prints were advertised as a first edition run limited to 100. Dellivered was a set of 3 prints labeled out of 1100. The larger prints were labeled with different run amounts. There are different numbers on all the large prints. 2 of the larger prints were damaged. One says there were 700 printed, another says 500, and 2 say out of 200. The signitures on the small prints is very different from large prints. However I do understand the challenge of signing what looks to be 1600 large prints and 3300 small prints (1100 sets of 3). No COA is provided.

- Kyle + 11.12.13 | 5:06 pm

On Ty’s twitter page, he had stated on sept. 27th that “1st ed. will be 400 for the 11×14′s, 300 for the yellow 18×24, 200 for blue 18×24, 100 for green & orange 18x24s”. I just received my 18×24 blue print and it is one of 500 printed, not the 200 which Ty had stated. Also, as another poster indicated, there was no COA included and the signature resembled a scribbled check mark. I am pretty disappointed with the purchase.

- Paul + 11.13.13 | 5:53 pm

I just received mine today. I ordered the 18×24 blue print during the finale, at which time it was stated to be the first edition limited to 200. However, much like the above two people, mine is one of 500 printed. As well, no COA, and damage on the side of the poster. I’m very disappointed, and I waited nearly two months for this day.
