Mattson Creative Studio
I thought that I would update the blog with some new pictures of the studio. Our office is in a 100 year-old converted lima bean processing warehouse, so we have a lot of vintage objects around the building. I took a few pictures of my favorites – my optometrist’s projector, water level meters, a school PA microphone (which works) and some other cameras and industrial pieces. As a designer, I always gravitate towards found objects with interesting type, so all of these items feature letters or numerals. I’m also a huge Superman fan, so we have a big mural of The Man of Steel right outside my door.

Your studio looks awesome. I love the giant Superman! We moved into our new studio in December. It’s pretty much the opposite of your antique-look: http://www.version-x.com/blog/post/new_year_new_office
I strongly believe in surrounding your workspace with inspiration. Your studio looks amazing. Please convince my boss to design my workspace as artist-friendly as yours. :)
This is an AWESOME studio space! I surround myself with some of my favorites too…I love the vintage! I cant wait to move into a studio and hopefully a warehouse like yours…..The transformation of a place like this cant be duplicated in new work! Love it!
Absolutely love them all, Ty. Two things: Sometime I want to visit the office and hear you actually use the PA system, and also…You should make tape measure frames – I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person who would buy one.
This studio is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Not a big fan of Superman myself but love the artworks of him in the studio and the way you’ve incorporated it into the design.
